Twitter users react to Jefferson County island, traffic woes and flooding Live
This week is one of the times I'm glad my nest is high and dry. My thoughts are with those whose homes were flooded.
Devastating to see destruction of land & loss of homes & businesses.Thankful for resilient & sympathetic Missourians #flood2015 #stlwx #MOwx

When can I wake up from this nightmare and not be trapped on this Jefferson County island?

The Adele meme (Hello from the other side ... of the Meramec River) is funny. The traffic situation is not.
Two major highways in the area, Interstate 44 and 55, both closed near the Meramec River, which reached heights higher than ever recorded. Flooding also closed other major roads and bridges over the river.
Due to traffic problems of #stlflood, took 5+ hours to get home. At one point, fast-forwarded a CD just to feel like I was making progress.

We are off of the roads and safe after a three hour struggle in that traffic jam. Pray we can come home tomorrow. #stlflood
