We do appreciate you letting us know when you see items such as this. MoDOT does not have any enforcement capabilities; we do continue to work with our construction partners, drivers and the plant to discourage this type of activity and to get it cleaned up when it does happen. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Right now, we are looking at the roadway being reopened about the middle of September. We had to drive some of the foundation pieces deeper than anticipated, but that's not something you can determine until you get out there and start the work. We are doing some milling and resurfacing on Lindbergh, and will be including the area where you reference at the end of the ramp. The bridge project is pretty much just replacing the existing bridge. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
I will have our traffic engineers discuss this with MoDOT traffic folks to see what's up
Nothing new, that I can think of, although I have asked our traffic team to see if they have any thoughts. We do have several road closures that can impact school routes, or at least will make them more congested (Dorsett/Midland and Watson Road near I-44 come to mind). Of course, remember the rules for stopping for school buses and give the buses plenty of room (while they are stopped and if/when passing them while they are moving). Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Kingshighway under I-44 will be closed each night until Saturday so crews can work on the bridge over the roadway. It will be closed between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Yes. We are currently working on the eastbound ramp there. When that is done by the end of August, we will move to the westbound ramp. We were avoiding working on that ramp until after the Stanley Cup playoffs (but we had to finish working on the ramp we were making repairs on before we started the ones at 14th Street. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
We'll have someone take a look at the WB I-64 ramp signal at Boyle during the time you specify to see if there are detection issues. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Our contractor began work on Kerth this past April. The previous activity was undertaken by utility companies and was unrelated to our project. We'll be resurfacing Kerth from Butler Hill Road to Meramec Bottom, and expect to complete the job by year's end. David Wrone, St. Louis County
We'll be resurfacing this section of Graham Road next year, in advance of MoDOT's I-270 rebuild. David Wrone, St. Louis County
You're welcome. And thanks! David Wrone, St. Louis County
This is a Missouri American Water Company main relocation project. I'll have to check with that utility for an update/schedule. David Wrone, St. Louis County
I have passed it along to our maintenance team to check out. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
The ramp from Grand should be reopened. Vandenventer will reopen when the bridge work is complete in December. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
We have an issue when the sun is in a certain position during the morning rush, where the glare from the sun blocks out the lane lines, but makes the old ground out lane lines more visible. We have really done about as much as we can with the lines during construction. As you can see with the Shrewsbury project, we are putting a final layer of asphalt on the roadway, which covers up all the existing lines and gives us a nice fresh asphalt "canvas" for the final lane lines on the interstate. We will do the same thing when the project between Kingshighway and Grand is complete. Andrew Gates,, MoDOT Communications
We do have a project being planned in the STIP over the next several years to make some improvements at the I-70 and Cave Springs interchange to improve the flow of traffic. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Amanda is having trouble getting to the chat today. I will copy the questions from St. Charles and share them with her. She will share responses next week. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications.
You're welcome! Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communcations
We have been working on updating several of our older message boards -- many of the parts are no longer manufactured, and the newer boards are easier to read. As older boards become obsolete, we will replace them. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
That section of Olive Boulevard is, I believe, University City's to maintain. You would have to check with them. MoDOT's maintenance goes as far as Ferguson Avenue where Route 340 ends. However, typically, utility companies put a temporary patch on a repair until they can be sure the repair holds, before they schedule a permanent repair. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
