Don't forget that Amanda Brauer, from St. Charles County, is on the Road Crew now to answer your questions about county roads in St. Charles. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
That ramp will open temporarily for the Independence Day activities. It is scheduled to close again the following week for about another 20 days. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
We have been watching that area, as we were trying to assist traffic getting out of Old Olive onto Olive. We made some updates to the timing last night that should help improve the westbound flow of traffic on Olive. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Illinois DOT has bridge repairs on the bridges to the east of the Poplar Street Bridge. There are two two-lane bridges on the far side of the Poplar Street Bridge, and they have the one to the right closed. Because of that, they have two lanes closed across the Poplar Street, and one lane closed on the ramp from eastbound I-44/northbound I-55. The ramp from Marion is closed for safety due to the lane closure on the ramp. They are supposed to finish the repairs next week and remove those work zones before July 4. I have asked our signal team to check the detection here. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
We do have both ramps at 14th Street scheduled for repairs this year, but had to delay the work around the higher volumes of traffic expected for the Blues progression to the Stanley Cup. Right now, we are working on 10th Street -- that will reopen for Independence Day activities and then close back up for about three weeks. When that work is done, we are planning to start work on the ramp from14th Street (Clark) to westbound I-64. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
I have asked our traffic team to take a look and see if there is enough traffic to justify having a protected left here. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Once the new pavement is complete, all damaged loop detectors (i.e., vehicle sensors) will be replaced. David Wrone, St. Louis County
We anticipate finishing this oft-delayed project by September. However, we partially opened the intersection of Musick and Gravois to traffic Tuesday afternoon. Eastbound Gravois drivers can now turn right (south) onto Musick, while northbound Musick motorists can turn right (east) onto Gravois. David Wrone, St. Louis County
I have passed your signal concern along to our traffic team to evaluate. However, to clear traffic from Sulfur as you suggest would require a center turn lane on Sulphur -- Sulphur is maintained by the city, and they would need to make that determination. Andrew Gate, MoDOT Communications
Thank you for sharing your additional insight. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
I'll get this to our signals group for investigation. David Wrone, St. Louis County
I'll have our signals group look into this issue. David Wrone, St. Louis County
Yes, that will be fixed with the final layer of asphalt. If the bridge was lined up with the existing pavement, then when they put down the final layer, the roadway would be too high. This will help ensure that there is a nice clean layer (with no stripes) that we can put the final striping on for the project to make sure people can see where the lanes are. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
This is a pretty complex issue with so many variables that it would be hard to make any generalized statement. Suffice it to say that MoDOT will continue to work with all transportation partners to make roadways as safe and reliable as we can with the resources that we have been entrusted with. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
We have no plans to make any changes such as that at this time. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
