It would be helpful for our engineers to be a little more specific about your concern -- which direction(s) at which time(s) for instance? The congestion on I-64 in the morning and evening rush between McCausland and Kingshighway tends to back up traffic that is trying to turn left at the Hampton and I-64 intersection. Several years ago, we designed and built a round-about at Vaile and Old Halls Ferry Road in Spanish Lake. The lanes on the I-44 project at Shrewsbury are standard 12-foot lanes, except for the inside lane in each direction, which is 11-foot. It is a work zone, which is why we set speed limits below the standard interstate speed limit. We live and work in the St. Louis area, which means driving through our work zones regularly -- including daily for some of the people in the St. Louis City area. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
In previous weeks, the City received comments about the difficulty in making northbound left turns in the morning rush at the signalized intersection of Lansdowne & River Des Peres (at the Shrewsbury Metro entrance) - resulting in some rogue motorist behavior of turning right (to the east) and then a subsequent U-turn (back to the west) to bypass the long vehicle queues. Our traffic engineers performed peak period observations and modified the timing to alleviate some of the vehicular delays being experienced in that northbound left turn movement. We were able to provide additional time without sacrificing the overall performance of the intersection for all motorists. We will continue to monitor activity at this location to see if the changes hold up. Thanks for your patience.

Funding is in place for redesign of the Compton Bridge to occur in FY19, however no funding is secured yet for construction. We anticipate applying for federal funds in 2021 for construction.
We regularly get complaints for any work done at night along the I-44 corridor in the city; in addition, night work tends to be more expensive, due to the need for additionally reflective clothing, lighting, etc. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
In the plan you're viewing on-line, parking will be allowed in those areas that are designated with a "P." So, yes, existing parking spaces WILL be eliminated. However, please note that parking is actually now prohibited along this stretch of road - a restriction that is, from my understanding, not enforced.
