I was driving down Eddie & Park road the other day and between Sappington Rd and Pardee Rd. The west bound lane is all paved and smooth (been like this for a few years) and the east bound lane is rough, old, bumpy and you can see the top layers of pavement coming off. Any reason behind why both lanes weren't paved?

A St. Louis County DOT contractor will be resurfacing Eddie & Park from Gravois to Sappington. However, the contract under which Eddie & Park will be repaved also includes two other roads: Valcour, from Heege to Gravois, and Hanna, from Big Bend to the city limits of Valley Park. At this time, the contractor hasn't specified which of the three roads will be resurfaced first. Work will begin as soon as possible on the first of the three roads - ideally, by this fall. There were some recent emergency utilities repairs at the intersection of Lindbergh and Cordes Dr. There is a large hole at the NW corner of the intersection that was filled with gravel but not topped with either concrete or asphalt. With the recent heavy rains and vehicles cutting the corner tightly, the gravel has spilled out of the hole and onto Cordes Dr. approaching the intersection, leaving a significant depression in the hole. The large, loose gravel is a hazard at the intersection, especially for pedestrians crossing Cordes and for motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles. Can the hole be properly filled in and the intersection swept of the loose gravel?

Generally utilities are supposed to repair the roadway to a reasonable condition after completing their repairs. I have forwarded your concern to our utilities and maintenance sections for appropriate review and follow up. Thank you for sharing this concern.Jeff Baird

Good afternoon. The grass & weed overgrowth at Bennington Pl & 364 is unsightly. I’ve been told in the past that crews maintain this intersection four times per season. Is that still the case? I’m not sure this area has been cleared all summer, and I’m hopeful that a maintenance crew can be directed here this week. Thank you.

Our maintenance crews have many priorities that they must manage. In addition to mowing, they have potholes to patch, drains to clean, debris to sweep, signs to install and repair, and much more. They try to work mowing in as priorities and workload permit. That being said, I have reached out to our maintenance representative for this area and they indicated that the maintenance crews will try to get out to that area next week pending other priorities or emergency work. Thank you for sharing your concern.Jeff Baird
