Last week, a reader asked about a series of temporary patches on Patterson Road, just off Lindbergh Boulevard in Florissant. These patches are related to an ongoing Missouri American Water Company project on Patterson. Once the water company completes its work - later this year - Patterson's pavement will be permanently restored to its pre-project condition (i.e., "like new". David Wrone, St. Louis County
A quick reminder of some work coming up this weekend at the I-44/I-55 interchange. Crews will have all lanes closed on the ramp from eastbound I-44 to northbound I-55 for ramp repairs from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. You can take southbound I-55 to Arsenal and use northbound I-55 to get to eastbound I-44. In addition, the ramps from Jefferson to eastbound I-44 and the ramp from eastbound I-44 to Lafayette will be closed at the same time. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Work will begin in early April on St. Louis County’s $1.5 million Baxter Road resurfacing project.
A total of 1.6 miles of Baxter – that segment of the road resting between Clarkson and Wildhorse Creek Road in Chesterfield – will be improved under the project. Pavement Solutions, LLC will perform the work, under the supervision of St. Louis County Department of Transportation engineers.
The project is scheduled to be finished by the end of this summer, and will include removal and replacement of deteriorated curbs and sidewalks, construction of wheelchair-accessible sidewalk ramps and removal and replacement of the road’s existing pavement.
This segment of Baxter Road carries 17,400 vehicles a day, and is an integral component to St. Louis County’s arterial road system.
Motorists will encounter periodic lane reductions and related restrictions during the life of the project. David Wrone, St. Louis County
No, the traffic engineer for that area is still working through the details with our maintenance team to see if they can be put back in. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
It starts after next weekend (on Monday, April 11) After next weekend's full closure, there will be one lane closed on the EB I-44 ramp to NB I-55 until mid-May. With that lane closure, we need to keep the ramp from Jefferson to EB I-44 closed for safety. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
This signal is in fact malfunctioning. A utility company damaged one of the embedded loops that control it. However, we'll be permanently removing this particular signal from Hanley in the very near future (approximately two months), and installing a new signal at Flora - just south of the problem signal. David Wrone, St. Louis County
A reader asked last week about the traffic flow situation on W. Bruno and Strassner, at Hanley. Presently, to accommodate the construction of new lanes on W. Bruno at Hanley, all westbound W. Bruno traffic at this intersection is funneled into a single lane. (Three lanes previously were available to these drivers.) Once the new W. Bruno lanes are complete - hopefully, by next week - the problems encountered by Strassner drivers trying to turn left (north) onto Hanley will be resolved. The new lanes are related to Menards. David Wrone, St. Louis County
The potholes on Ellendale and at Grand/Laclede will be repaired.
I'll have to check with our Special Use Inspection group to determine the origin of these pavement markings. They could be utility-related (i.e., a utility company will be excavating the pavement to access part of its infrastructure). I'll post an answer next week. David Wrone, St. Louis County
Our traffic engineers will review your request about extending the right turn lane on Grand at I-44
We have passed this along to our team to fill. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
The intersection of Tower Grove and Vandeventer is over capacity during peak hours due to the Kingshighway closure. I will have our traffic engineers again look at this intersection, but adding time to Tower Grove will cause larger backups on Vandeventer.
Your concern about the sidewalk on the west side of 11th has been forwarded to traffic engineering group.
