The street lights and decorative pedestrian level lighting are powered from substations triggered by photocells to operate only when dark conditions occur. Sometimes these are on during the day when there are malfunctions or when electricians are troubleshooting them.
Thanks for the report. I've forwarded the information to our signals group for investigation. David Wrone, St. Louis County
The traffic signals, pedestrian accommodations, and signal timing will be upgraded on Jefferson (Market to Natural Bridge) will be upgraded/improved to accommodate traffic demands for future demands (including NGA) in next few years.
The signals at Lansdowne are being adjusted/monitored during the GRG greenway project beginning at Wabash. We have not had any complaints lately. Jamieson & Arsenal is closely synchronized to the McCausland signal system immediately to the west. We will check both signal locations you mentioned in case of malfunctions. The traffic sensors on Mitchell are a known issue we are dealing with now. Thanks for your observations - we will do our best to resolve them!
The signals that are being re-timed during those efforts will include those to the south to I-44 as well.
Those have been shared with our signing team previously -- it takes time to order the tabs and get them into the queue to be updated. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
