We are making some improvements to how traffic moves through the interchange. There isn't a web page currently on the project, but the team has been working on putting one together. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Are these signs on Big Bend? If that's the case, we have to work with the county(who maintains the roadway) for them to let us know which trailblazer signs they need replacements for. The interstate is, officially, U.S. Route 40 and Interstate 64 from the Missouri/Illinois border to the interstate's end at I-70 (with U.S. Route 61 mixed in west of Lindbergh) -- so it still is, technically, R.S. Route 40). Generally speaking the interstate name takes precedence over the U.S. Route (for instance, U.S. Route 40 continues on I-70 in Wentzville, but that stretch of roadway is commonly called Interstate 70. Last week, a Road Crew chat participant asked if ordinances exist to control vehicle emissions on and around road construction projects. The resident was concerned about heavy equipment idling on an unnamed work site. The short answer is, yes, there ARE laws designed to limit the amount of time stationary vehicles can be left running. However, there are also exemptions to those laws. We would certainly investigate a specific situation, but will need more information before launching that probe. Please contact me at dwrone@stlouisco.com. Thank you! David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation.
I can pass that along. Do you happen to know which lane? Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Thanks -- I have passed that along to our maintenance team. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
I'll forward your report to our Operations group. Thanks. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation
I can certainly pass it along to our maintenance team. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Doesn't sound abnormal -- depending on demand (i.e. there was no through traffic and still time on the cycle), left turn might get some more time if there is a need for it. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
I'll check with the traffic team and let you know if I hear anything back. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
