Last week, a chatter mentioned the damaged median along I-44 at Mississippi. Our maintenance team do have it on their list, but there are several other locations that need to be addressed first for safety. It may be some time before they get to repairing this area. A couple of weeks ago, a chatter asked about the signs for the Soccer Park exit along I-44. We did have our traffic team check them, and they are accurate -- we round down for distance, rather than round up -- that helps the driver be alert for the ramp (and not start looking for it after they passed it...) A few years ago it was said on this site that Dorsett was on the schedule for work about now. What happened? Also I was told that Maryland Heights offered to take over Dorsett but the county declined. If Maryland Heights had control we would have a driveable road. I will not drive on it after dark when I cannot see the potholes. -
We are currently pursuing federal funding with which to improve Dorsett west of McElvey Road. However, we presently don't know if our request will be approved or denied. The trash along 44 and 270, in all directions including on and off ramps, is atrocious. It makes the county and the city look very unkept and is quite an embarrassment to our town. This has been addressed several times with no results. Any near future solutions or who can be contacted about this concern?

Over the past few months, our team has been focused on winter weather and, more recently, on pothole patching, to ensure that the roadways remain safe and drivable, although crews have been picking up litter as weather and schedules permit. As we push into spring, the department does make an early push for litter pickup: No MOre Trash! Bash seeks volunteers to help clean up Missouri roadways | Missouri Department of Transportation (modot.org). You should see inroads on those areas of debris soon. Westbound Dunn Road at the intersection of West Florissant has been redone. At the end of the exit, the pavement is seriously uneven. Will that be corrected?
Also, previously, of the three lanes, the right lane was right turn only, the center allowed both left turns and straight, and the far left was strictly left onto eastbound West Florissant.
Since the construction, only the leftmost lane is for left turn, but the center left/straight lane is still configured to allow lefts but only striped to go straight. Is this a permanent change? Will it returned to dual function? -
Our team overseeing the I-270 North project will see if they can level out the pavement at Dunn Road and West Florissant, sometime next week. Its final configuration will have two left lanes, two dedicated through lanes and a dedicated right lane. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
