Is the single lane bridge in eureka by the six flags exit going to be replaced in the near future I don’t know if the state owns it or does the railroad? Also on Weber road by Bayless high there is a road work sign that has been laying down for two months grass has grown up around it

That bridge is maintained by the municipality -- they are working to get it replaced. I talked to Mr. Wrone about the sign and he mentioned that he would pass that along to the county Operations team to remove. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

On WB I-64(40), west of Kingshighway, there are padlocks strung along the fencing atop the concrete barriers on the north. They seem to stop at the mounted police stables. Any clue what's going on there?

It looks like those might the caps from the fence posts -- but they do look a lot like padlocks. I have asked our maintenance team to check that out and see if they can fix the fencing. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

A bridge on Aubuchon Road could remain closed in Hazelwood until the summer of 2022.
    St. Louis County's Department of Transportation closed the bridge on June 11 after discovering extensive damage to the structure, which spans Cow Mire Creek, just south of Teson Road.
    However, before the bridge can be replaced, the County must abide by all permitting regulations that pertain to construction projects located in flood plains. Many of these regulations are required/issued by agencies outside St. Louis County's jurisdiction.
    This process could delay completion of the replacement project until the summer of '22. David Wrone, St. Louis County Department of Transportation

Hello, whom (which agency or department) can I contact regarding an issue with a traffic signal and sensors on the ground (to signal a vehicle is there and to change the lights from Red to Green) at the intersection of Eager Road and Brentwood Boulevard in St. Louis County? It seems that later at night during off peak hours (example, 11:00 PM and later), when one pulls up going west bound on Eager Road at Brentwood Boulevard, the light will not cycle and turn green. When a vehicle does come up to the intersection going East Bound to on Eager to cross Brentwood Boulevard, it will cycle to green and not on the west bound side even though a vehicle is there and was there before that one. It is possible it is only the far-right lane because when another vehicle pulls up on the lane next to it, the traffic signal will cycle and turn green and allow the west bound Eager to cross and/or turn left.

The roadsides (MODOT right of ways) in the Bridgeton area are in deplorable conditions with tall grass and weeds along with extreme trash. Trees and brush which should have been trimmed years ago have been allowed to overtake these roadsides. Of course this scenario occurs throughout the state. However some areas seem to get preferential treatment. I am old enough to remember when our roadsides were well maintained. What actions specifically can be taken to address this situation?

Richmond Heights' improvement project on McKnight Road, from Clayton Road to I-64/40, is nearly complete. Aspects of that work - including the removal and replacement of traffic signals - required lane restrictions at the intersection of Clayton and McKnight. So those issues will soon be issues no more. You'll need to contact the City of Ladue re: Ladue Road. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation

Good afternoon. It seems to be an ongoing issue at the Loughborough exit (N-bound) from 55 that exits really onto Idaho. There has always been a dip there. A very extensive repair was done last year, but the dip is now returning, so bad that you now need to slow to not bottom out in the right lane. Why is that spot such an issue, and what else can be done there? Thanks.

The issue at the Loughborough exit recently was due to a utility repair. I've reached out to our maintenance team to see if this is something that they are watching, and if they have let the utility company know. If I hear anything back, I will share it here. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

The left turn signal from WB Gravois to SB Morgan Ford is invisible to the first car in line at that light, leading to honks, delays, and one or two cars at most making it through that intersection while the left arrow is lit. Can this be fixed?

The type of driver behavior you described is always a concern with center left turn lanes. Hopefully, this section of Hampton will operate as intended.

For the city: I've learned the plan for the repaved stretch of Hampton is for a single through lane for each direction, with a center-left.

I foresee a lot of problems with "territorial disputes" in the turn lane: in addition to there likely being instances where drivers get in each others' way (and view) at streets like Delor and Neosho (where lefts can be made in both directions), there's a tendency on Kingshighway for drivers to enter prematurely/drive further in it than they should: I've nearly gotten in head-on collisions twice when trying to make a left onto W-bound Fairview, due to someone going to the carwash S of it getting over far too early. Getting in it at Pernod is also risky.

I sure hope it's not going to be the mess I anticipate!

Will the utility company(ies)--I saw Ameren working in that area-- responsible for tearing up westbound Chippewa between the Walgreens at Hampton and the Firestone further west restore the street to its recently repaved state? Why Ameren didn't communicate to MoDOT that they were going to work in this area before your repaving project does not make sense to me. Utility companies seem to do a very poor job of repairing streets properly, leading to perpetual potholes and dips. Can someone stay on top of them to make sure that they do the right thing?

Any time a utility works on a state-maintained route, they are supposed to restore it to its previous condition. In some cases, the utility forces have to make a temporary repair and then issue a contract to make the full repair., or with some water repairs ensure that their repair holds before making the final patch. Last week, I asked why there was no real communication regarding the lane diet on Hampton between south of Chippewa and Jamieson. Nobody bothered to even post my request. Why can’t you mail out flyers to the affected constituents or display message boards alerting the very motorists using the road of a potential lane diet and then allowing them to provide feedback? This blind-siding the constituents has got to end. Let us voice our opinions before you do something so drastic. Please respond.

Sorry, I try, but sometimes I don't always have the opportunity to post all questions each chat. There was public outreach on the Hampton project along with a formal presentation of the traffic safety study to the wards affected.

Last week, I asked how long the right hand lane of northbound Kingshighway at Chippewa would be closed. I received no answer. Nobody has worked there in the past week. How much longer until the road is repaired?

Bowles Avenue overpass over I44 as well as the South Outer Road from Bowles to entry on east bound 44 needs to be completely replaced. The driving conditions on the overpass and south outer road are terrible. Is this a project that Missouri Department of Transportation is planning to address? If so, when? Also what is the targeted completion date for the 44 bridge project at the Meramec River?

We currently have a project that is underway that is making repairs to the south outer road between Route 141 and I-270. At this time, we don't have any plans for a rehab of the Bowles overpass. We are still on track to complete the I-44 Meramec River Bridge project by early next year. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
