Law enforcement officers are authorized to request vehicles to be towed. I would recommend you share your concerns with the Chesterfield Police Department and see if they can have this vehicle removed./relocated.Brian UmfleetMoDOT District Traffic Engineer

City of St. Louis is having a Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thanksgiving Day. Out-of-town folks coming in to see granddaughter participate in marching band. Question: What time does parade start and end? Question: What street intersection does parade start at and where does it end? Question: What streets and intersections will be closed during parade? Need to know to advise them where to park. Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Ron

i know this has been brought up many many times before and it's like beating a dead horse sometimes but the amount of debris and trash along the area highways is really not acceptable and it frankly it's embarrassing. One particular area that is just bad and hasn't been cleaned up in a very long time is 1-70 in downtown, all the entrances and exit ramps are just littered with broken glass, trash and debris. Now i drive along other area roads controlled my MO-DOT and those look acceptable. i think if someone on this chat where to personally drive by and look at this they would also agree that this is not acceptable and would prioritize resources to have medians, curbs and pullover lanes cleaned. Just my two cents.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The battle against litter on the area highways is a never ending battle. Through October 1st, MoDOT has swept a total of 10,000 lane miles of roadway in an attempt to keep up with litter and debris on the area interstates. During this same time period, MoDOT has expended 24,000 labor hours on picking up litter. I will contact our maintenance supervisor for the city and ask them to review the condition of the interstate entrance and exit ramps.Brian UmfleetDistrict Traffic Engineer

I have written a few times since July about the left turn signals on Olive (MO-340) at the intersection with Fee Fee and have also called the number that you gave me. The intersection still continues to have problems, with no left turn arrows being given at times when the turn bay is full for more than an entire light cycle and at other times green arrows being given when the turn bays are empty. The latter occurred this morning at 7:15 am, with the left turn bays for both eastbound and westbound Olive empty yet both directions got left turn arrows. There is a large amount of traffic that turns left from eastbound Olive onto northbound Fee Fee and the left turn signal errors cause backup at times. I am frustrated that this has not been fixed despite my complaining for months. When I first wrote on here you dismissed this as being caused by the sun, but I have seen this happen in daylight and at night, on both sunny and cloudy days. And if your turn bay sensors are affected by the sun then you need new sensors since the sun comes up and set every day of the year. I would like to hear whether anything will ever be done to fix these lights.

In last weeks chat I gave the wrong name of a street. On southbound Wabash just as you go under I-44 there is graffiti on the concrete wall to your right. It faces the southbound traffic. Also, there are 2-3 potholes on north and southbound of Wabash and Ellendale.
Thanks for all you do! -

There are manhole covers in downtown that sit way way lower than the pavement almost creating a quasi pothole. What would it take to bring these up to street level or why are these manhole covers not brought up to pavement level when a street is repaved? i've seen way too many cars bottom out on them in the city.
