There are too many lanes on northbound 141 to safely have that signal become a flashing yellow -- MoDOT only puts flashing yellow left turn arrows on roadways where there are two or fewer lanes that the left turn has to cross. However, if you can share some more specific times when you see the backups with no northbound traffic, I can pass it along to our traffic team to review and see if they can make any tweaks to the signal timing. Thanks for the information -- we've passed it along to our signal team to check out and see if they can't get it fixed. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

We recently optimized that corridor along Olive -- signal corridors are optimized to limit the amount of times traffic moving at the speed limit stops along the corridor during peak traffic times. Primarily, that would be heading toward the interstates in the morning and heading away from them in the evening. However, due to the on-going construction at Lindbergh and Olive , some of the signal timings have been adjusted due to the extra traffic detouring around the closed Lindbergh ramps. I have shared your observations with our traffic team to see if they can make any adjustments. As a note, when I-64 was reconstructed, traffic on Olive was given significantly more time than traffic on the cross streets, due to the high numbers of vehicles using Olive (and other east-west roads) because the interstate was closed. That timing remained in place for some time after the interstate reopened -- since traffic levels on Olive then went down, it seemed like the flow of traffic was smoother. It will probably be about three to five years before the entire corridor is optimized again. However, we have passed your observations along, and if you see sticking points along the corridor after the construction is done (or even now, if you see something that seems to slow down excessively), you can certainly pass them along, and we can ask our team to take a look at them. You are certainly correct that there is a large amount of traffic heading toward Bayer/Danforth. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
They have to wait until the new surface cures for a couple weeks before they can put the final striping down. They are still out there working on the top layer of surface in some areas -- they can't place it if the pavement is wet or it has rained recently. It should be done soon, weather permitting. Yes, the bike lanes will go back in, with some minor adjustments requested by the city. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
What time are you seeing the issue at Page and Ball/Westport? That will help our traffic team better troubleshoot the issue. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
