I'e said this before, covering hockey has been a pleasant late-career surprise. I actually think I did some of my best writing and reporting for some of those bad Rams teams. But it certainly is a more pleasant work enviroment when you're covering a winning team. And the Blues sure seem to have their act together.

I believe the need for speed and skill is somewhat overrated. Yes its needed during the regular season but the playoffs are a different animal. The Blues aren't particularly fast but could have reached the final with a healthy Binnington. I know Chief agrees with me, he is a meat and potatoes guy, meaning forechecking and being hard on the puck wins games. What say you?

Blues believe success in today's NHL means speed, skill and scoring
STLtoday.comClub's organizational philosophy seems to be moving in the direction of speed, skill and scoring. -
