In a follow-up from last week, a chatter was mentioning that they thought a signal was turned incorrectly at Pershall and Hanley/Graham. In checking with the team that oversees the I-270 North project, they noted that there are several inactive signals that are turned away from the intersection. Those are new signals that have been installed for the project, however, the existing roadway has not been completed and configured for their use. To avoid confusion, they have been turned. My question has to do with the mileage signs seen outside of major cities. Does the miles-to-town indicate the city limit or the city center or somewhere else in the city? Thanks.

The city is installing several speed humps. I don't like them, but that's a topic for another day.

My complaint is that for some of the ones that are in the installation phase, there is neither an advanced "SPEED HUMP" sign or orange safety cones. Consequently, I rolled over a cut in the road, where the pavement is removed, and it rattled my car.

If my car is damaged, I expect the city to pay for its negligence.

My wife works near the intersection of Skinker and Delmar. Everyday she crosses Skinker on the north side of Delmar. She has mentioned several times that no matter how many times the crosswalk button is pushed, the cross walk never gives a walk signal. Doesn't matter what time of day it is. It's also a dangerous busy intersection to cross during rush hour if the crosswalk signals are not going to change.

Can someone please look into this intersection ASAP for the safety of pedestrians?

I know in the past someone has mentioned the conditions of the far left lanes (fast lane) on north and south bound 270 between Manchester and I-64 with the concrete lanes crumbling and bad old patch jobs with MODOT saying a project is coming to fix it?

Could someone please just at least fix all the holes temporarily instead of waiting till it gets worse? It's quite bad, especially the northbound fast lane. Some of those broken concrete holes are getting worse with old patch jobs sunken down.

We do have crews that patch holes along that stretch, to hold the roadway together, until the project that includes pavement repairs along those inside lanes is awarded later this year, although this work is set for later in the project. I have shared your observations about the corridor with the maintenance team in the area, and they do continue to go out there, as weather permits. What ever they are doing on McKenzie from Heege South to Weber has made McKenzie a one lane road. The repair of the pavement is so rough you can not drive on it. Are the going to pave the entire street?

It sounds like that is utility work in preparation for an upcoming project along Route P (McKenzie). We do have a project that updates sidewalks, pedestrian crossings and signals between Watson and Gravois and then resurfacing the roadway. Route P (Mackenzie) resurfacing and sidewalk project | Missouri Department of Transportation (modot.org). My wife and I have lived on Broadway downtown for 7 years and there has basically been construction occurring from Washington to Market street continuously the whole time. They rip up one block. Then the next. Then come back and rip the first one up again several times a year. Why is this?

Hi

There are a few good-size potholes, on Lindbergh as it passes under highway 64. Two of the bigger ones are in the left turn lane going south on Lindbergh to turn east onto 64.

The drainage issue on Loughborough Drive reported in February has not been corrected. Water still pools at the base of the hill. Also, there are numerous potholes on S. Grand between Wilmington and the entrance to Carondelet Park. This area seems to be problematic after winter, maybe needs to be resurfaced.

There's been a large overhead highway sign on the shoulder of I-270 northbound just before the I-44 interchange for a few months, with the shoulder blocked off with jersey barriers. Is this sign waiting to be installed or waiting to be removed? And what is the timeline for completing the work?

That sign needs a repair, but we are waiting for the material we need to do so. As soon as the material gets in and we can schedule the work, we will do so. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

The green left turn arrows in the signal lights from the eastbound off ramps of I-64/Hwy 40 to northbound Lindbergh are so faint as to almost be not visible. Is it an alignment issue or do the lights need to be replaced?

Was there a specific time that you were seeing this? Sometimes the angle of the sun can interfere with being able to see the lights. I will share this with our signal team to check out, though. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

Back in January I asked about Scanlan & 59th Streets. The Water Division has been working on them since December. I understand the need for the pipe replacement, but any idea on how long the work is going to take? And, will the 2 streets be repaved? Right now driving through there is a nightmare.

The roads between downtown and the central west end are one big pothole. It’s a game of dodge a pothole the whole way. Jefferson around 64, and Delmar between the CWE and Tucker, are particularly egregious. The pothole repairs are terrible - on my way to work today, a piece came up off the road and hit the undercarriage of my car. When are these roads getting REPAVED?!?!
