I did pass this along to the construction team working on the I-64 at Jefferson project, and they mention that the signals are coordinated. This is one of those issues where they have to carefully balance the signal timing in all directions. The biggest concern, especially in the evening, is a heavy eastbound turning movement onto Jefferson. Since they don't want that ramp to back up onto the highway, they have to give that traffic a good amount of signal time, which impacts the traffic heading southbound on Jefferson. In the morning, there is a lot of northbound traffic heading to westbound I-64 -- since there is no longer a flashing arrow, that impacts traffic heading southbound on Jefferson in the morning. They are continuing to monitor the flow of traffic and do what they can. We do appreciate your patience as we continue working through the on-going construction here. I have three questions/comments, I hope that is okay! For St. Louis County, there is a stoplight on an island west of the Forest Park Parkway-Pershing intersection. This light is for eastbound Forest Park Parkway traffic. A tree has grown branches in front of it and the light is no longer visible to oncoming traffic. This seems to happen every 1-2 years. Can the tree be trimmed back? For MoDOT, the left turn arrow from eastbound Olive to northbound Fee Fee never goes green on weekends. This has been happening since before the recent storms. There are 10-15 car backup all day on Saturdays at this light waiting to turn. The left turn backups are worse than ever occurs on weekdays because the green arrow actually comes on M-F. Can this light be looked at? Finally, I was curious when the Olive-Lindberg interchange will be finished. Is there a delay in receiving equipment for the signals? I think this occurred with the Olive-Spoede intersection project. Also, will Olive be resurfaced? It is currently a minefield of potholes over Lindbergh.

For the MoDOT portion: for Fee Fee, I have passed that along to our traffic experts to make sure that everything is set up correctly. As far as Olive/Lindbergh, that is a permit project (a project not developed or constructed by MoDOT, although there is some oversight). They had to do some redesign work and then work through the process to finish that project. We are told that will happen later this summer. Finally, Olive east of I-270 to the county's portion is set to be resurfaced in 2024. Until then, our crews will continue to patch and maintain the roadway. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

It appears that most of the construction related to the new I-44 bridges over the Meramec is complete. I have a couple of questions. What are the plans (if any) to clean up and restore the construction staging area in the southeast quadrant of the I-44/I-270 intechange? Now that the pedestrian bridge appears to be complete, whose responsibility is it to complete the trail connections, on either side of the river? MODOT? Kirkwood? Fenton? Trailnet? St Louis County? And when should we see that work started? And completed? Thanks!

Although the surrounding communities funded and designed the project for the trail connections, MoDOT will oversee the construction of them. The project to do that has been recently awarded, and construction should start soon. The work should be complete by the end of the year. Since there is still construction underway, albeit for the trail connections, I would anticipate the staging area would be restored sometime after that work is done. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
