We had a couple of follow-ups on questions from Alex last week. To start, Alex asked if MoDOT was going to have flashing yellow arrows put in for left turns from eastbound Watson Road to the new development at Crestwood Commons. That project is still in design, but there is an intent to have the developer install new signals there. Those signals will be updated to what is most appropriate for that roadway, including flashing arrows if the roadway meets all the requirements to have them installed. Alex also asked about green or flashing yellow fire station signals. In checking with our traffic team, both are allowable under traffic standardization rules. It comes down to organizational preference. For instance, the county displays steady green under normal conditions, while MoDOT chooses to use a flashing yellow under those same conditions. MODOT — A camera at the western intersection of Ladue and 170 has fallen over and is resting on the poll.
Also could you have your special ops liter team run the southwestern side of the highway from the Ladue Rd entrance to SB 170 to FPP, there are everything from pallets to sand bags to bumpers along behind the guard rails.
Thanks! -

Numerous South County residents/motorists have contacted us recently regarding the status of our Bayless Avenue improvement project, by which the heavily traveled Lemay road will be upgraded from Union to Lemay Ferry Road.Work on this project will begin no later than the spring of 2023, and conclude by year's end.Our Bayless contractor will remove and replace deteriorated sidewalk and curbing, remove and replace the bridge located 160 yards east of I-55, build wheelchair-accessible curb ramps, upgrade the signals at Avenue H, and, lastly, resurface Bayless from Union to Lemay Ferry. We expect to award the contract for this project by this fall.David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation

Greetings. Just wanted to alert you to the following. Heading south on I-170 and approaching the Delmar exit., the right shoulder has large tree branches that could be hard to see and might damage a car. Just beyond the same exit, before the overpass, there is one of those metal guardrails that was hit and is in the shoulder. (Recently orange cones appeared nearby. ). Thanks!
