We've seen similar discussions about the-- I don't anticipate that we will be doing that along any MoDOT roadways anytime soon. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
We'll pass this along to our signal team to take a look at the traffic flow here. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Our construction team will take a look at this, but I'm told there may not be a lot that they can do -- it is a tight turn, but if the barrier weren't there, the semis might be driving over the pedestrian refuge or clipping the signal post. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
We have some bridge painting on I-64 over I-270 and some pavement repairs on the inside lanes of I-270. We do also have some work on the ramps from I-64 to I-270 heading north to prepare for another project to replace the bridges at Conway and Ladue. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
What time are you seeing the issue with the turn from Summit to Route 30? Timing plans often change during the day based on the number of vehicles using each leg of the route. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
I'll pass it to our traffic team to see what they may be able to do. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
You are welcome. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
The westbound I-64 Boone bridge is tentatively scheduled for some migratory bird nest removal, a bridge washing (takes the remnants of any winter treatments off the bridge) followed by an inspection. You can expect one lane closed in either direction as they are doing all of this work-- that should be during off-peak traffic hours, though. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communication
A St. Louis County DOT contractor is replacing a deteriorated box culvert - a type of bridge - on Lockwood/Adams. We're still on schedule, and expect to have the road reopened sometime this spring. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation
In last week's chat, a motorist asked about a new entrance recently built off Laclede Groves Road, into Lutheran Senior Services' campus. This entrance is temporary, and was constructed as part of an MSD project. Once that project is complete, the entrance will be removed. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation
I'm pretty sure that Reavis Barracks isn't a part of the I-55 resurfacing project, but I'll share your observation with our maintenance team. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communication
I'll pass your observation along to our traffic team to take a look at and make sure all the necessary safety equipment is in place. We do have a project looking at this interchange currently in the early stages of development. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Geyer Road in this location is maintained by the municipality of Sunset Hills -- talking with our traffic team, they believe that this is to help drivers confirm their options as they enter into an intersection that is slightly skewed. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
Signals are generally optimized for a particular corridor, and we do that regularly. Optimizing signals means that our traffic teams evalute the levels of traffic, including the times that traffic levels are higher. Since there are many cross streets with higher volumes of traffic, this helps make travel along the corridor more fair. Optimization means that signal timing is set to minimize the number of times that traffic heading in the heaviest direction stops, as long as traffic travels at the posted speed limits. Due to safety concerns (i.e. trying to avoid traffic backing up into high-speed corridors), signals from the interstates or major highways are given priority. If you have specifics (what direction you are traveling on what roadway, and what time you are seeing a possible issue) we can pass them along to our traffic team to evaluate. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communication
We've observed this area several times, and are in regular contact with MoDOT, in response to similar reports about Graham/Hanley congestion. However, we're not seeing anything particularly unusual. This is a very heavily traveled artery, particularly during rush hour. However, we'll continue to monitor traffic flow here. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation
Work is scheduled to begin this spring on our Westport Plaza Drive/Marine improvement project. We'll be improving this section of roadway - including removing and replacing the pavement - from Glenmeade Drive to Lackland. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation
