One of the high-mast lights on the south side of I-70 has been out of service since at least July 2022, and I wanted to make sure MoDOT was aware of this. The tower is labeled W (or VV), and is around MM 222.6; the luminaire ring hanging a few feet above the ground. If this has been previously brought up, I apologize.

During the last week on the Manchester road project, the contractors have been rebuilding a bunch of the center medians which is closing off the left turn lanes. While this is just normal construction inconvenience at most intersections, it has been a real headache at the Manchester/Lindbergh intersection with some folks trying to force a left turn from the left through lane blocking the through traffic and then the left lane traffic tries to force its way into the right through lane. There should probably be a temporary "no left turn" sign while the turn lane is closed off, since there are plenty of alternate south bound routes.

I know finally work has begun on the inner left lanes of 270, north and south to fix the huge breaks in the road surface between Manchester and I-64. It also looks like the north bound section is done because the safety barriers have been removed. However, there are about 3 sections right before the clayton road over pass going north bound in that far left lane (ones before and after were but not these and they were there before they fixed them) that were not fixed and are just in as bad of shape as the others before they were fixed. they are tire killers, and it would be nice if they were also fixed and not just patched.

There is a lot of pavement repair work still to be completed on the section of northbound and southbound I-270 between Manchester and Ladue as part of the current work in that area. They should be getting to the concerns you mention soon. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

I had mentioned this problem a couple years ago and the problem still exists.
On Olive Blvd, east and westbound between I-270 and where it extends to I-64 there are numerous manhole covers and covers for gas and water shutoffs that are well below pavement surface. Potholes this deep would have been repaired. I understand there is a resurfacing project scheduled for Olive. Can this covers be raised before the paving project?
Also, for a long time now on I-270 north and southbound for a mile either side of Manchester there are at least 4 raised areas resembling speed bumps across all traffic lanes except the concrete inside lanes. Can these areas be smoothed out? -
The project on Olive Boulevard west of I-270 is currently underway. They should be making adjustments to the utility covers as they approach the resurfacing, although often the utility is responsible for bringing the covers up to pavement level. I'll share your observations with the team overseeing the construction. I'll share your observations with the maintenance team that oversees the Manchester and I-270 area. If I get any insight, I'll pass it along in a future chat.

Thank you for your inquiry. It was quite perplexing, but I'm going to try. Speed humps are useful in places where traffic needs to flow. Speed bumps in small areas where pedestrian and traffic share space more equally. Thanks...Larry Tyler / Streets & Traffic Liaison

For the city: the SE-bound stretch of Jamieson between Hampton and Chippewa is so riddled with potholes that it is indirectly hazardous to pedestrians/other vehicles: driving it requires such a level of focus on the pavement that looking out for anything else is difficult - and it's particularly bad by Willmore Park, which is really worrisome. Please address this ASAP. Thanks.

Thank you for bringing this concern to my attention. Presently Street Maintenance crews are asphalt filling right of way issues throughout the City of St Louis. I'll forward this location to crews remedy this issue. Thanks...Larry Tyler / Streets & Traffic Liaison

The speed limit sign in the 8900 block of Valcour (Affton) is down again. It's actually on the property of Grasso Plaza on the east side of the street. I've lived here 30 years and that sign is down more than up. When it's down, the broken off piece in the ground is a danger to the tires of cars using the parking lot.
