Go to www.healthcare.gov, and call an insurance broker. I'd also suggest checking the websites for several insurance companies.
In the St. Louis area, you'll have limited choice. Only two companies are offering coverage for 2007 on the government's health care exchange. At least one is offering coverage off-exchange.

Watch deadlines. Generally speaking, people can sign up for coverage on the exchange only during open enrollment once a year. But there is an exception for people who lose employee coverage during the year.

Donald Trump wants to repeal and replace Obamacare. He would allow people to buy coverage across state lines to increase competition among insurers. He would create a high-risk pool for people who lose coverage and can't find new coverage.
Hillary Clinton would tweak the current system. She has supported a "public option" to compete with private insurance companies. She has also suggested allowing middle-aged people to buy into Medicare coverage.
