I mentioned last week about the huge pot-crevasse (not a hole - it's a crevasse all the way across the lane) in the westbound Manchester to Des Peres Road ramp. It's even worse, now.
I also mentioned about the timing of the light at the bottom of that exit ramp - staying green an excessive amount of time on Des Peres Road, when there's no traffic. I typically notice this between 6:30am and 8:00am on weekdays. Yesterday, I sat at a red at the bottom of that ramp for two full minutes when there was zero traffic on Des Peres. Please set this light to trigger for the exit ramp more quickly. Thanks! -
Thank you for the follow up to last week's concerns. Our traffic engineering team made some changes to the operation of the signal this morning. Your concern regarding the potholes has been submitted to our maintenance forces for scheduling and repair as staff and weather allow. Please contact our customer service staff at 314-275-1500 to report any concerns you have on MoDOT maintained roads.Brian W. UmfleetDistrict Traffic Engineer

Lackland Road will close at 9 a.m. Monday (February 13, 2023), just west of Schuetz Road in Maryland Heights. A County DOT contractor will be removing and replacing an aged box culvert that bridges Fee Fee Creek. Lackland will remain closed at this location until late August or early September. Motorists are advised to use Craig Road, Villa Dorado Drive and Schuetz Road as a detour. Approximately 11,000 motorists drive on this stretch of Lackland on a typical weekday. David G. Can you give an update on 44 construction? A few weeks ago there were signs referring to major roadwork at Antire. Nothing ever happened and each week the sign says that the left lane will be closed. I assume this is for the detroyed median. When does the construction begin? How long will it take and will a lane be closed around the clock?

MoDOT has hired a contractor to repair the barrier wall that was damaged on I-44 near Antire. The work a couple weeks ago was delayed due to winter weather events. The work involves removing the damaged barrier wall, setting up forms and pouring new concrete. The work is scheduled daily between 9 am and 3 pm and is progressing as weather allows. The lane closures will not remain in place for 24 hour periods.Brian W UmfleetDistrict Traffic Engineer

This question is for MODOT and the City. It seems like the number of homeless encampments are growing next to area highways. There is one on the westbound entrance onto I-44 from Hampton (I can't imagine that the people who live on Eveline are happy about the encampment on the other side of their backyards), one at Lafayette between the I-44 and I-55 exits and entrances, and one underneath westbound I-64 near Grand. I believe that it is illegal for people to camp on state-owned land (other than a state park). Is MODOT working with the City to help the campers find permanent housing so that these encampments can be removed (which pose a health and safety threat) and hopefully help get these folks onto a more secure path where they are safe, warm and secure?
