Could you ask someone to take a look at the light sequencing traveling East on Gravois turning “north”/left on South Geyer road?
I travel through there on a frequent basis & many times the “left arrow” green gets “skipped” & or it takes forever to get a left arrow. It would be very helpful if they could change it to a flashing yellow arrow, especially during low volume traffic’s times. Thank you for this service. -
Do you happen to have a particular time when you see this? That can help our traffic team try to see if there is a specific issue during one of the signal's plans. How come the new eastbound exit to 22nd street on highway 64/40 is open, but you cannot actually access 22nd street? The exit just takes you off of the highway momentarily, and then directs you back onto highway 40 eastbound. The signage makes it look like this is an actual exit to 22nd street, when clearly it is not. There is no way to access 22nd street as it is still blocked by construction.

There is simply no place to go at this time. We are waiting on some construction to be completed by one of our other partners to fully open that up. The work that we can do on our right of way is finished, but until the remainder is complete, we cannot open up the remainder of the interchange. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

I don't know if this a MoDOT question, but do you happen to have an update on the culvert work being done on Lockwood Ave. in the Kirkwood/Glendale/Oakland area? I think the original plan was that the work would take around 90 or so days. Are they on track to timely complete the work? I live along the detour route and am looking forward to the completion of the project. Thanks.

At the intersection of Olive St. and 4th St., when turning left from Olive to North bound 4th street the signal there takes well over 3 min to change for me and anyone to turn left on to 4th street. Seems like a very excessive amount of time. I see a lot of people running the red light because they don't want to wait that long. Is there any way to make it cycle faster? 3 plus min is way to long to wait at a light from a one way street to a one way street.

I believe the signals are a little extended due to not being adjusted after Cardinals season ended. Can someone look at the light timing for the Olive st. & 4th stree intersection? The light from Olive to turn left to 4th street can last over 3 min and this is any time of the day. This seems to be a bit excessive for a 1 way to a 1 way street. Can this be shorten at all, esp since there isn't a lot of traffic from Olive. No one wants to wait 3 min for a signal light.

For the city: are there any plans for improving the surface of N-bound Kingshighway, between the merge at Christy and Fyler?
The right lane along that stretch is particularly bad, with a lot of deteriorated utility work patches that are subsiding, making for a frequently-jarring drive.
Also: as of my last drive there, a significant pothole in the N-bound stretch of Germania between Alabama and I-55 was still unattended to - it has been there for months.

Thank you for bringing this concern to my attention. With pending new budgets and with other funding in near future, paving consideration is priority at this time. Who has dictated nearly all state traffic signals be mounted overhead as opposed to ground level? I've found that the state has updated the signals to be overhead but hasn't adjusted the stop lines, so unless you stop well before the line as the first car, your view of the light can be obscured by your roofline (in a car). I see this also as a problem because there is now only one signal for a left turn in many cases, so if it burns out, there's no backup. In addition, views of the signal can be obscured by traffic, say a large commercial truck ahead of you. Again, a second signal would be helpful.

According to our traffic experts, we follow the guidance provided by Federal Highway in the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices as well as our Engineering Policy Guide. This guidance states: “Each signalized approach lane shall have one signal face centered over it.” The same documents provide guidance regarding the minimum and maximum distance to these overhead signals. If you are aware of a location where you can’t view the signals due to the placement of the stop bars, please contact us at 314-275-1500 and we will be happy to look into it. You are correct that not all locations with left turn signals get a second left turn signal on the far side of the intersection. The express lanes are closed due to the construction on the Broadway bridge over I-44 at the downtown end of the lanes. The contractor is using the lanes to construct the bridge over the interstate. We expect the lanes to reopen late next spring or early next summer when the bridge project is complete. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

Thank you. Also, could someone maybe look into the signal at the Rock Road and Edmundson? Coming SB on Edmundson, about once a quarter it just won’t turn. Rolling backwards, rolling forwards, it doesn’t help. I’ve sat there for ten minutes before waiting for it to turn and had to run it because there was someone behind me blocking me from reversing and turning right instead of left. Maybe it needs to be adjusted?

Pritchard Farm Road will remain closed indefinitely, unfortunately. Flood waters severely damaged a bridge on the road immediately south of Route 141 this summer, and our engineers are still assessing repair/replacement options. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation
