During the last chat, we had a comment about Deer Creek and the vegetation being removed along the banks during construction. MoDOT's portion of that project is completed, and we have placed rock along the section we worked on to provide erosion control. There is still a project underway being done by Brentwood (Brentwood Bound) -- you would need to check with them for specifics, but there should be vegetation or rock there, depending on their plans. I have a 'right of way' question from a situation I had a while back. This was at Lindbergh and New Halls Ferry. I was southbound on NHF approaching Lindbergh, and had a right turn arrow, so I started my turn; however, I had to stop as an eastbound Lindberg driver made a U Turn from the left turn lane. Both of us had an arrow, so who has the right of way? There is not a 'no UTurn sign there, maybe there should be? Thanks!

If you had a green arrow for the right turn, the person going eastbound technically had a green arrow for the left turn onto New Halls Ferry -- they should have yielded to you to make the U-turn. I will share your observation with our traffic team for the area to see if they think that a "No U-Turn" sign would be appropriate. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

For MODOT - the detection for Grant Road at Watson seems to be having a hard time distinguishing between vehicles that want to turn left and those that want to go straight (becasue of the narrow lanes? dirt on the lenses?). The last time was last night, at 6:45 pm, with one SB vehicle in the left-turn lane, and two vehicles in the SB thru lane. We got a left turn signal, but no green ball, until it cycled again, without someone in the left-turn lane.

In a recent Road Crew, a chat participant asked if we have any plans to improve Laclede Station/Hanley Road between Manchester and Marshall. We do. Under our current schedule, we'll be resurfacing Laclede Station/S. Hanley between Manchester and Newport in '25/'26. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation.

Thanks for hosting the chats. I am not sure if this a MODOT issue or Stl County issue, but will the section of westbound Watson by the new development project at Crestwood Mall get repaved? There are a lot of potholes and other issues from the construction project. Hopefully this gets addressed in order to support the development.

Yes, the developer is supposed to maintain and return any pavement to the original condition as a part of the permit work. I've asked our permit team to check this area and see if there are repairs that need to be made. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

This is in regards to the school traffic signal in front of Gotsch Intermediate School on Laclede Station Road. It appears that the utility work is complete under the road and the road resurfaced. The traffic signal still goes through its red, yellow, green cycle all day long 7 days a week. Many times I go through this intersection late at night and have to stop at a red light and no traffic around . It appears there are road sensors. Should this traffic signal be scheduled to operate during school hours and a yellow flash at other times? Address for the school is 8348 S. Laclede Station Rd. 63123. Thanks for your input.

I suspect that new traffic-detecting sensors still need to be installed in the pavement approaching this signal, but I'll forward your query to our signals group for a definitive answer. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation.

Highway 141 in Earth City in both directions right where you cross the railroad tracks has been in bad shape for years. Once in a while they put a patch down but it doesn't help. When are they going to redo it. Also, the traffic lights on Lindbergh and St. Charles Rock Road early in the morning will cycle to red when no one is around. They use to have flashing yellows in the early morning but now I never see them. It's inefficient to be stopping for all these lights when I'm the only one there. Thanks

There is supposed to be some work in that section of Route 141 this year, although I don't believe the project has been awarded yet. If I get more on that, I'll let you know. Do you have the time when you are seeing the issues at Lindbergh and St. Charles Rock Road (and direction) -- that will help our traffic team determine if there is an issue. We no longer have flashing yellows overnight -- it simply isn't safe. Typically what should happen is the roadway with the most traffic on it stays green, and then the detection picks up vehicles on the cross-street and then changes. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communication

For the county: there's a good-sized pothole on the right side of the right lane of S-bound MorganFord/Union, a bit N of Seibert.

I'm driving east on St. Charles Rock Road from Highway 141 to South on Lindbergh to Clayton Road between 4:15 to 5:00 in the morning. A lot of these traffic signal do not cycle correctly. Thanks for your help

Big potholes in the 100/McKnight intersection.
Also can you get the contractor to put up work zone ends signs at the south end of the I-55 work? The pylons have been moving north and south for months, so it's hard to know when and where the work zone ends. Also a sign to indicate the speed limit returns back to normal.

Did you get a chance to check the signal on Rock Hill and Brownbert? It's still cycling for ghost cars/pedestrians a couple months since I brought it up.
