I am impressed by the redesign of the Lindbergh and Olive interchange and will very happy when it is finished. Unfortunately, the recent weather has created a huge mess of potholes in the lefthand eastbound lane of Olive, especially just to the east of the Lindbergh overpass. Many are where the old lane boundaries used to be, which are now under where tires drive because of the lane shifts. In addition, there is a huge cluster just past the Old Olive signal (the one by Danforth Center) that cars are starting to swerve into the other lane to avoid. Could these be patched whenever the pothole crew has time? I know that this is a construction zone but the road surface is a big mess right now.

The recent winter weather has really chewed up the ramp from northbound I-55 to westbound I-44. There are several very large potholes, so many that it's hard to avoid them. Patching may work for a bit, but spring rains and warmer weather will just reopen all the potholes again. This ramp really needs a complete resurface.

We do have a resurfacing project that is in this area in 2024. Until then, our maintenance forces will continue to fill and patch the roadway as necessary. During winter months, because of temperatures, we usually fill the potholes. Then, in spring, as temperatures warm up, we will make more permanent repairs. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

If memory serves, I believe that this has been addressed in previous chats but the Hanley and Manchester intersection needs attention so I wanted to bring it to you attention again. When crossing Manchester from Hanley in either direction large potholes are unavoidable. These are pretty jarring when driving over them. Can something be done in the interim to lessen the jolts before a more permanent solution is found? Thanks for all you do.

Since that area is within the construction zone for our project on Manchester Road (Route 100), we have passed that along to our construction team to share with the contractor. They should be addressing it soon. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

If I understand what you are asking, that is a part of the drainage system -- in those areas where the water can't drain directly off the roadway, that helps move the water to the drains. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications

Can you look at the Berry/I 44 light, the southern one specifically. Sb t4affic gets an arrow when there is no traffic, then goes to a red arrow when cars are actually there.

Who controls the timing of the stoplight at Forest Park Parkway and Hoyt Dr, just west of Skinker? Is it St. Louis County or Washington University? In the evening, Hoyt is given too little green time and only 4-5 cars can get out onto Forest Park Parkway. A large backup extends well down into the new parking garage at Wash U. This has become more noticeable with remote work largely ending at Wash U. Cars on Forest Park Way experience a much shorter red at Hoyt than at the nearby signal on Skinker, which is what limits traffic flow in the area. I think more green time could be given to Hoyt between 5 and 6 pm without impacting Forest Park Parkway traffic because that is mostly stuck at Skinker (or Big Bend to the west).

There is a big depression of pavement on southbound Kingshighway as you cross Page. Vehicles in the middle lane have to crawl over it or swerve. Also eastbound Forest Park Pkwy in the right lane just before Debaliviere there is the same thing.

Thank you for having this cat. The pot holes keep increasing and getting deeper on Olive between Compton and Jefferson. The street is becoming like a 3rd country road.

On Loughborough Drive which connects Grand Ave at Carondelet Park to Loughborough Commons there is a storm drain that never keeps up with heavy rains. During the winter storm 2 weeks ago the standing water turned into a sheet of ice. When it is a large puddle of water and vehicles go through it the water gets splashed onto the windshield of opposite traffic. This has been an issue for several years. The clogged drain is located about midway up on the Loughborough Drive shortcut to the park or shopping/I55.

I have asked about this before, but can anything be permanently done to keep the traffic light at Papin and southbound Truman Parkway from cycling for ghost traffic on Papin? Twice this week during the evening rush hour the light at this intersection turns red for ghost traffic on Papin. As it turns red, the light on Chouteau turns green, and when Papin turns green, then Chouteau turns red. It is very frustrating to idly sit at two intersections for no reason at all, especially with exorbitant gas prices, not to mention the pollution that is generated from idling vehicles.

Why the new stop sign at Bates and Leona? There has never been one there before and I can't recall any accidents. Vehicles are not always stopping at this intersection and I'm afraid there may be an accident while motorists get used to stopping there.

Villa Dorado Drive will close Monday (Feb. 28, 2022) between Casa Grande and Schulte in unincorporated northwest St. Louis County. This section of road will remain closed through the summer while a St. Louis County contractor removes and replaces a culvert across Fee Fee Creek. Can something be done with Gustine Ave from Delor St to Meramec Ave? I know this is an industrial area but motorists do use it and the potholes are very large and numerous.

With all of the utility work being done on Manchester west of Hanley, is there any chance while its all torn up to add a center turn lane? I think this would be a good time to do that.

You can see details on the project that we have underway on Manchester between Big Bend and Lindbergh here: Manchester Road (Route 100) between Big Bend and Lindbergh | Missouri Department of Transportation The project includes sidewalk updates, signal work and resurfacing, but we have no plans to create a center turn lane through this area.
