If it was under the bridge, it's to help catch any pieces of concrete that may break loose due to deterioration. Winter weather (especially water getting into cracks and repeatedly freezing and thawing, and the roadway treatments used to clear roads) can be tough on concrete. In last week's chat, a motorist asked if St. Louis County has any plans to improve Musick Road between Tesson Ferry and Lavinia. At this point, no such plans are being considered. David Wrone, St. Louis County's Department of Transportation
Crews are out striping interstates now (I-55 in Jeff County and I-70 in St Charles County) . Although I have shared your concern with the striping team, I understand that should be done when they are working on I-64 -- but I don't have a specific date when they plan to be out there. for obvious reasons, the recent rain has delayed a lot of striping work. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
I've passed that along to our traffic team to make sure that all the appropriate signing is up -- I'm told there is at least one "Slower Traffic Keep Right" before the climbing lanes. They will go out and review the roadway leading up to the lanes to see if there are enough signs. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
You're welcome! Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
There is a lot of activity at that intersection, so that may be a part of the phasing for that particular signal -- if you happen to have a time when you often see that happen, I can ask our traffic engineers to take a look at it to see if there are any improvements to be made. There are three southbound lanes on Kingshighway -- MoDOT doesn't use flashing yellow left arrows on roadways/signals they maintain when the turn crosses more than two lanes -- it simply isn't safe. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
I'll share with our maintenance team to check into and see what they can do. Andrew Gates, MoDOT Communications
We will look at this location for the installation of vehicle detection in the left turn lanes - only cycling to that particular movement if vehicles are present. Thanks
The timing is set for the east-west left turns to go and then the east-west thru movements to go. We'll have someone look to see what you're describing. Thanks
Tamm - diagonal parking use takes up about 17-18 ft of pavement width which leaves 14-15 ft for a southbound traffic lane. Our minimum traffic lane width is 10 ft in the City so we should have have ample width available.
